Scooter Trip to Chiang Dao
My wife and I set off to Chiang Dao from Chiang mai about 10 am in mid December. We rented a Yamaha Aerox 155cc which had more than enough power to carry 2 people. It was a nice ride and the temperature wasn’t too hot. The ride itself takes about 1hour 40 min but you will want to stop at least once to break it up a bit
About an hour in we stopped at Dan Tewada I highly recommend this as it is an amazing place, stop for coffee or lunch to break up the journey. Take a wander round and feed the baby goats.
After about an hour we then headed on to Chiang Dao, once we arrived we checked into our hotel Azalea Village Wellness Resort & Residence. This is a great spot and excellent value for money. We spent a few hours hanging out by the pool and enjoying the nice weather. The onsen there is also nice.
When then jumped back on the scooter and headed to Chiang Dao Mountain View Restuarant, this is an awesome place to eat, drink and watch the sunset. We also let off some floating lanterns which were fun and beautiful to watch.
After enjoying a nice meal and a few drinks we decided to head home and get some rest.
The next morning we had a nice breakfast at the hotel around 8am before heading off to pronto coffee, its a great place to chill and watch the mist slowly disolve over the mountain.
Then it was off to Wat Tham Chiang Dao. a really nice temple with some beautiful cave, we spent an hour or so there before heading back to Chuang Mai.
Overall my wife and I really enjoyed our trip and do it it 3 to 4 times a year. Its a fantastic place to just relax and enjoy life
