Do I need a driving licence to rent a scooter?
Having a valid motorcycle driving licence, and an International Driving Permit where required, is strongly recommended.
If you do not have the correct licence, you can still rent a scooter from AA, but you should understand the risks. Riding without the correct licence may result in a police fine and may affect insurance coverage if an accident occurs.
For your safety and peace of mind, riding with the correct licence is always the better choice.
How much is the security deposit?
The refundable deposit is ฿2,000 for 125–155cc scooters and ฿3,000 for 300cc scooters.
An original passport can also be accepted instead of a cash deposit.
Do you deliver scooters to my hotel or accommodation?
Delivery is available in selected areas around Chiang Mai. Free local delivery is normally available for rentals of 7 days or more within 10 km of our location.
For other locations or shorter rentals, a delivery fee may apply. Send us your Google Maps location and we’ll confirm the options before booking.
Are helmets included with the rental?
Yes. Clean and sanitized helmets are available in S, M and L sizes. We can provide up to 2 helmets with your scooter rental.
Is a phone holder included?
Yes. A phone holder is included with the scooter to make navigation around Chiang Mai easier.
What happens if there is an accident or damage?
The scooter has compulsory Thai Por Ror Bor coverage, which mainly relates to medical benefits and is not full damage insurance for the motorcycle.
The renter is responsible for damage to the scooter and related transport or repair costs. Third-party matters may require a police report.
We strongly recommend having suitable travel insurance that covers motorcycle riding.
Do you offer weekly or monthly rental rates?
Yes. We offer daily, weekly and monthly pricing depending on the scooter and rental period.
Longer rentals already receive a lower overall rate, so pricing is kept clear and fair rather than negotiated differently for each customer.
What fuel should I use?
Please use Gasohol 95 or gasoline 95, and return the scooter with the agreed fuel level.
Which scooter should I choose for my trip?
Our 125cc scooters are best suited to city riding. For hills, longer journeys or riding outside Chiang Mai, we normally recommend a 155cc scooter or larger.
Can I extend my rental?
Usually yes, depending on availability. Please message us before your current rental ends so we can confirm whether the scooter is available for the extra period.
